Solutions

The performance spectrum of KRAHN Ceramics includes both ceramic and metallic materials and their processing steps. These include powders and binders, preparation and shaping processes, debinding and sintering as well as surface finishing.

The Process

  • Raw Material

    We offer a wide range of ceramic powders like aluminium oxide up to 99,995%, zirconia, aluminium nitride, ATZ (alumina-zirconia) and titanium dioxide (TiO2) or use customized products.

    For metal application we use powder like 316L, 17-4PH, carbonyl iron or customized products. Our kcmix® binders include water, solvent, thermal and catalytic debinding systems. Finally, we offer special developed organic additives like plasticizers and liquifiers.

  • Formulation

    Our basis is our know-how to get it running. We will assist you to create best solution for CIM/MIM compound, extrusion material, slurry preparation or ready to press granulated materials.

  • Moulding

    To manufacture your special compound or filament we have the right equipment like kneaders, high speed mixer, shear rollers or extruders. To test their performance we use our injection molding machines from Arburg and Sumitomo.

  • Debinding & Sintering

    For our debinding methods both water or solvents (acetone) can be used. The thermal or catalytic debinding is conducted in our own special debinding kilns. We can sinter the materials in our own kilns up to 1700°C.

  • Finishing

    In order to achieve the required surface effects we are able to offer you a sliding finishing process in cooperation with our partner OTEC. It contains centrifugal disc finishing, drag finishing, stream finishing or vibration finishing systems.
